Grey buttons: A fraction's numerator and denominator can be altered by clicking the appropriate grey buttons. This is the only way to alter denominators. Numerators have a minimum of 0 and a maximum of the current denominator. Denominators have a minimum of 1 and a maximum of 10 or 15 (depending on window size). Rectangles: Numerators can be altered by clicking on the pieces of the associated rectangle to fill them in. Filling in pieces does not have to be in linear or left-to-right order. Shape marker: The fraction rectangle and its associated shape on the number line can be hidden or shown by clicking on the marker shape next to the appropriate rectangle. The fraction can still be set by use of the grey buttons even when the rectangle and number line symbol are hidden. This can be useful for instructional purposes. Number line: The number line has no direct interactivity. Shapes on the number line will move to the correct position on the number line based on their associated fraction. The number line will update even if the number line is hidden.
